When one person says something offensive to a couple of other people, especially in a weak moment, and apologizes on national TV, it should end right there. If there is still a problem, it was already there before the offensive remarks were made. And, the problem is not with the person who made the remarks. The saying about sticks and stones comes to mind. If spur of the moment words cause pain to someone who does not even know the person who said them, and I do not believe they did, the easily offended person has some possibly dangerous issues within themselves. I would say they need professional therapy, a lot of it,or they are doomed to a short, miserable life. Likely as not, they are going to constantly be hurt by words not even directed at them. Sooner or later they will become so frustrated, they will lose control and do something illegal to get back at someone=ne for saying something that may even be true about them, yet they take as so offensive they get up a bunch of like minded people and blow up a building or something. In the case of the night club incident, I believe a lawyer and some media outlets saw a chance to manipulate AMERICAN society into giving them a lot of money. I wonder how much of the money I spend every day is attributable to trivial lawsuits hustled up by conniving lawyers. Likely, that causes AMERICAN buisnesses to have a lot harder time competing with corporations who are from countries who don't put up trivial lawsuits.
